Perfect Love Cast Out All Fears

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

1 John‬ ‭4:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Good Morning Beautiful,

Lately, I have been meditating on one of David’s prayers; It is, “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting” (Psalms‬ ‭139:23-24‬ ‭KJV).‬‬

In this prayer, one of the things David is asking God is to show him his fearful thoughts and to help him face those fears. That’s a bold move because not too many people ask God’s help in facing the fears. We all want deliverance, but what about acknowledging those things that scare us and being willing to face them, not alone but with God by our sides.

As you see in today’s scripture, it says, “Perfect love casteth out fears,” and the perfect being that I know is Jesus Christ. Jesus is perfect, and through Him, we will have the ability to face and conquer any and everything that comes our way.

I love this scripture because it tells us that we don’t have to live in torment or be crippled by these thoughts. Truthfully fear is all in your mind, but it affects how you see things and how you hear words. Fear will have you believe that there are threats all around you when, in reality, you have the power to overcome it all.

We are overcomers through Jesus Christ, and this morning God is saying to fear no more! Don’t put any more energy into those “what if” thoughts. Take your mind off of self and place it back on God. Declare to Him that you trust Him, that you believe in Him.

God wants you to walk in freedom, so don’t think for one second that God has given you that spirit of fear. Fear is of the enemy because he doesn’t want you to move upward; he wants to bring you down. That notion that “if I do just enough I can stay put is a lie”; you are either moving forward or backward.

Fear will cripple you, so it isn’t about believing a little or trusting a little; you have to put ALL of your faith into Christ and trust that He will lead you through this battle (whatever you are facing today). Remember “perfect love cast out fear”; All fear.
