You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are–no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourself proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.
Matthew 5:5 MSG
Good Morning Beautiful,
Say this with me, ” I AM WHO GOD SAYS I AM!” The Lord calls us to be content with who we are. God has made us all unique, and I find joy knowing God doesn’t call us to be the same. Nor does He call us to experience seasons in our lives the same way someone else does.
Chasing the image of God
God has made us all unique, not to fit in but to stand out. When God created Eve for Adam, He made her from Adam’s rib (see Gen. 2: 22) because the wife God built for him had to be specific to Adam’s needs. Both Adam and Eve had to be content in who they were because of God’s purpose in their lives.
You see, this world has a perception of who you should be. This world created gender normative roles and placed specific characteristics for both males and females. For example, women expect to be polite and sensible, domestic, comforting and nurturing, thin and graceful, and the list can go on and on (What are gender roles and stereotypes?).
I am not saying that we can’t be those things with all those characteristics, but we are not only those things. In today’s time, I can see that more and more women are speaking out and redefining our society’s roles. I know that I can be assertive and intelligent, and I don’t have to take on the stereotype of being pushy or angry.
I don’t have to give in to gossiping as a way to fit in, or I can choose to either be a stay-at-home mom or a working mom. I can be whoever I want to be, and so can you. God created you in His image, and every part of you fits the job that God has called you to do.
Qualified in the kingdom
“You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are–no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourself proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.” Matthew 5:5 MSG
There is no need to chase after this world because we will have everything we need and more when we come into Christ. God calls those who are meek and content in who they are blessed. So be blessed today and know that YOU ARE ENOUGH!
